    A local high school swimmer is a finalist for Sport’s Illustrated SportsKid of the Year 2015.

    Reece Whitley, a student at Penn Charter, is an Olympic-hopeful and one of five finalists for the honor from Sport’s Illustrated.

    Whitley stands tall at 6-foot-8 and is currently a member of the National Junior’s Team, according to sikids.com.

    Whitley has qualified to swim the 100 and 200 meter breaststroke in the Olympic Trials this June, according to sikids.com, and he also holds national age-group records.
