Life Sentence for Chester Murderer

A Chester man charged in two other killings has been ordered to spend life plus at least three years in prison for a 2007 murder

A Chester man charged in two other killings has been ordered to spend life plus at least three years in prison for a 2007 murder.

Twenty-eight-year-old James Armstrong was sentenced Thursday by a Delaware County judge in the 2007 shooting death of Eric Caldwell.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports prosecutors said Armstrong is a ``ruthless killer'' who has shown no remorse. Deputy District Attorney Stephanie Wills noted that one man scheduled to testify against Armstrong was shot to death before his trial and another fled the area.

Armstrong is charged with two other cold-case killings, the deaths of Felix Pizarro in 2009 and Larry Douglas Carter in 2010. Prosecutors say they'll seek the death penalty in those cases.
