Authorities say a suspect with a knife has died after a shooting involving police officers at a New Jersey library.
Lyndhurst police Chief James O'Connor said that two officers were involved in the shooting inside the library Friday afternoon that left a 36-year-old man dead.
Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli identified the victim as 36-year-old Kevin Allen, of Lyndhurst.
O'Connor says that the incident began when a police officer followed Allen inside of the library.
He says that two police officers were taken to a hospital to be treated for stress following the shooting.
He says that Allen had a knife. He says that witnesses to the shooting, including a child, were being interviewed.
The building is next door to a building housing the town's police department and government offices.
