Lehigh County Boy Scout Leader Charged With Sexually Assaulting Three Scouts

Authorities say a 50-year-old Boy Scout leader in Pennsylvania is charged with sexually assaulting three scouts over a number of years.

Stephen Piller, of Catasauqua, was arraigned Thursday on five counts of indecent assault and other charges. Lehighvalleylive.com reports (http://bit.ly/2vaFVzn ) Piller voluntarily surrendered and was accompanied by his attorney.

According to Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin, the assaults happened at Piller's home and at Camp Trexler, a Boy Scout facility in Monroe County.

Piller's attorney says they have been cooperating with authorities since they were first contacted. He declined to comment on the charges.

Authorities say Piller was a scoutmaster affiliated with the Minsi Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The council says it is cooperating fully with law enforcement and Piller has been removed.
