Legendary Philadelphia Broadcaster Dies

John Roberts, a former tv anchor and longtime Temple University professor, dies at age 89.

John Roberts, legendary Philadephia television and radio broadcaster died at age 89.

Roberts help to found WHYY/WRTI Radio and the School of Radio, TV and Film at Temple University.

He was the weekend anchor on Channel 6 when it was WFIL, for decades.

Roberts joined Temple in 1946 and was inducted into the university's Hall of Fame in 1996.
