All Clear After Lankenau Gas Leak

A gas main broke at Lankenau Medical Center near the parking garage Monday afternoon causing a temporary lockdown

Lankenau Medical Center went on lockdown after a gas main break was reported just after noon Monday, according to Montgomery County officials.

The break happened during construction near the new parking garage, according to a hospital spokesman.

Fire and gas crews worked to contain the leak and by 2:15 the gas was shut off and everything was reopened, officials said.

People were asked to stay inside the hospital during the incident. As a courtesy, people were given free meal tickets and parking stubs, hospital workers tell NBC10.
