Overnight lane closures are set to take place on I-95 North in Philadelphia this week for expansion joint repairs.
From Tuesday, Aug. 23 through Thursday, Aug. 25, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, I-95 north will be reduced from three lanes to one between the Girard Avenue and Allegheny Avenue interchanges. During the closures, crews will repair an expansion joint on the northbound viaduct over Lehigh Avenue which will allow sections of concrete pavement to expand or contract during extreme heat or cold.
Drivers are advised to avoid I-95 North through the work zone during the overnight construction or allow extra time when traveling in the area.
