King of Prussia Mall Baby Kidnapping Suspect Heads to Trial

A suburban Philadelphia woman charged with kidnapping a newborn from a shopping mall will face a trial on all charges against her.

Cherie Amoore faces kidnapping, child concealment and other charges at her June trial.

Police say she struck up a conversation with the baby's mother at the King of Prussia Mall in March and took him when the mother was distracted with another child.

The baby boy was found at Amoore's nearby apartment.

After Thursday's preliminary hearing, her lawyer says there's no question about what his client did, but why she did it is the key issue.

Marc Steinberg says Amoore is getting mental health treatment.

Police say she told them she had given birth to a baby that died after only a few hours in February. It remains unclear if that is true.
