Kidnappers Target 5 South Jersey Kids: Cops

Police arrested a Willingboro man and teenager for allegedly kidnapping five children.

Police say that on Sunday, Stephan Monk, 20, and three other suspects approached a house on Rittenhouse Drive in Willingboro, NJ.

The group allegedly kidnapped five kids, ranging in age from 11 to 15, who were sitting on the porch of the home.

The suspects then allegedly took the kids to a house two doors down. Police say that Monk and his group physically assaulted the kids and taped up their hands, feet and mouths.

The suspects also allegedly held a knife to the neck of one of the victims and carried another victim outside, tying his neck to a tree with a dog leash.

One of the kids managed to escape and alerted a parent. The parents alerted police around 10 p.m. and approached the house.

Police say that Monk and the other suspects ran away when they spotted the approaching parents. Once they left, the other victims were able to escape. Police say that none of them suffered any life-threatening injuries.
