Did a Former Judge Steal Cocaine?

A western Pennsylvania judge must now decide whether to toss out evidence in the trial of a former judge accused of having stolen cocaine from evidence files several years ago.

A suppression hearing in Washington County for 58-year-old former county judge Paul Pozonsky wrapped up Thursday.

Authorities accuse him of having stolen the drugs and replaced some of them with baking soda before he was removed from hearing criminal cases early in 2012.

Defense attorneys contend that a president judge's order to search their client's chambers was illegal and a search warrant was required, so the evidence should be barred from trial.

Pozonsky is charged with conflict of interest, theft, obstruction of justice, drug possession and misapplying entrusted government property.

His attorney says he expects a ruling in the fall.
