Judge: Man in Clementi Case Must be ID'd

A judge say the man in the webcam video with Tyler Clementi must be identified for defense attorneys.

A judge in New Jersey says prosecutors must give defense lawyers the name of the man who was allegedly seen in a webcam video having an intimate encounter with Rutgers student Tyler Clementi.

Judge Glenn Berman on Friday also refused to dismiss hate crime, invasion of privacy and other charges against Clementi's former roommate, Dharun Ravi.

Clementi killed himself by jumping from the George Washington Bridge soon after the incident last September, touching off a national discussion about bullying of young gays.

He also said that he would review further evidence from Clementi's computer and other writings to decide if defense lawyers should have access to it.

The judge also ordered Ravi's lawyers not to disclose Clementi's lover's identity publicly. He's identified in court papers only as M.B.
