Corzine to Be Grilled on Missing MF Global Money

Corzine and two other MF Global execs to testify on missing money

Former New Jersey governor and senator Jon Corzine will have company when he returns to Capitol Hill Tuesday to answer questions about the collapse of MF Global.

Former New Jersey treasurer Bradley Abelow, who was MF Global's president and chief operating officer, and chief financial officer Henri Steenkamp will testify.

A Senate committee wants to know about an estimated $1.2 billion in customer money that vanished when MF Global failed this fall.

According to prepared remarks, all three say they don't know where the money is. Nor do they take responsibility for authorizing the movement of money out of customer accounts.

MF Global collapsed into the eighth-largest bankruptcy in U.S. history on Oct. 31 after a disastrous bet on European debt. Corzine stepped down as CEO on Nov. 4.
