NJ Assembly Panel Advances Jobs Bills

The New Jersey Assembly has advanced numerous bills aimed at aiding job creation.

The measures approved Monday are designed to spur job growth and promote economic development. They are part of the Assembly Democrats' job creation effort laid out earlier this month.

The overall package includes measures to stimulate the state's manufacturing industry, create a jobs training program for out-of-work residents and cut red tape facing business owners. It includes a tax credit program to provide incentives to small private sector employers who increase their workforce by hiring unemployed workers.

Among the measures approved Monday were bills to support veteran-owned businesses and businesses that employ veterans, and a bill to provide tax credits for investing in New Jersey's emerging business technology sector.
