Neighbor With Garden Hose Prevents Philadelphia SUV's From Going Up in Flames

A quick-acting neighbor with a garden hose prevented a couple of sport utility vehicles from going up in flames after someone lit rags hanging from the gas tanks on fire.

A suspect put rags with accelerant on them in two SUVS parked along Janney Street near E Tioga Street in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond around 3:15 a.m. Monday then lit the rags, said Philadelphia Police.

A neighbor heard the commotion and ran outside to see the fires. That neighbor then grabbed a garden hose and doused the flames before the entire vehicles caught fire.

Luckily no one was hurt and the damage to each SUV was contained.

Fire officials investigated to determine a cause.
