Del. Janitor Rapes 16-Year-Old Student, Harasses Another: Cops

Police say that janitor had a long-term sexual relationship with a Sussex Tech student then harassed another girl

A Delaware school custodian allegedly carried on a long-term relationship with a 16-year-old student that was uncovered after another student accused him of sexual assault.

Delaware State Police arrested Sussex Tech High School janitor Timothy Morris, 29, of Seaford on Thursday on charges including 25 counts of fourth-degree rape, unlawful sexual contact and sexual harassment.

Investigators say that Morris and a 19-year-old, who was 16 when they began their alleged sexual relationship, had sex both in and out of the Sussex Tech building from March 2010 to August 2011.

Police say that a current 16-year-old student said that she became uncomfortable after Morris would give her unsolicited hugs and even once tried to kiss the girl. Morris also began texting her after obtaining her cell phone number through social media, police said.

After receiving the sexual harassment complaint involving  the current student, police contacted the 19-year-old again -- they had earlier reached out to her after a family member reported the relationship but the victim didn’t cooperate with the investigation -- who then said she and Morris had a sexual relationship when she was 16.

Morris is being held in custody in lieu of $208,500 cash bail.
