2 Dead in Accident on Icy, Snowy NJ Road

Police say the driver was speeding on a snow-covered road and lost control of the car.

Police say that icy, snow-covered roads contributed to the death of two people in New Jersey Wednesday night.

The accident happened on U.S. 206 in Tabernacle, Burlington County around 9:30 p.m.

New Jersey State Police tell NBC10 that the driver was speeding on the icy road, lost control of the car and crashed into another vehicle.

Both the driver and passenger of the out of control vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other car was transported to a local hospital. That person is expected to be OK.

Police have not released the names of the victims.
