Ice Cream Man Receives 2 Scoops of Justice

Ice cream man, Ali Nasser, was allegedly selling more than just tasty treats out of his truck, according to New Castle County Police.

Nasser, 40, was charged Wednesday with selling counterfeit CD’s and DVD’s after police spotted customers walking away from his Jack and Jill truck with hot bootlegs instead of cool treats, according to cops.

An officer patrolling the Edgemoor Gardens, Del. area on foot saw several customers walking away from the ice cream truck carrying what was certainly not ice cream. A customer told the officer that they purchased a DVD copy of a movie that was still in theaters, police said.

The officer pulled over Nasser's truck and immediately noticed a box of CD’s and DVD’s on display, he said. Further investigation showed that Nasser was selling the bootlegged CD’s and DVD’s to neighborhood customers, said police.

Authorities confiscated about 275 counterfeit discs as well as more than $380, reports stated.

Nasser was arrested and charged with two counts of improper labeling of a trademarked item and two counts of distributing counterfeited goods, cops said.

He was arraigned on the charges and is free after posting $4,000 bail.
