Husband Dies After Shooting Wife in Back, Turning Gun on Self in Pennsylvania Home

Authorities say an eastern Pennsylvania man who allegedly shot his wife before turning the gun on himself has died from his injuries.

West Penn Township police said that 53-year-old Michael Mindock III shot his wife in the back and then shot himself in the head in an attempted murder-suicide over the weekend.

The (Pottsville) Republican-Herald reports that the Lehigh County coroner said Monday that doctors pronounced Michael Mindock dead Sunday night at a Bethlehem hospital.

Officials say an autopsy will be performed Tuesday to determine the exact cause of death.

His wife, 56-year-old Brigette Mindock, was released from the hospital Sunday.

The shooting remains under investigation.
