Smoke Billows From House Fire

Firefighters battled the cold and flames this morning after an area home caught fire.

Flames broke out around 11:20 a.m. in a row home along the 4500 block of Sherwood Road in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

As SkyForce10 hovered overhead a short time after the blaze began, thick smoke could be seen billowing out of the building as firefighters worked on the roof of the home and adjacent buildings -- some still covered in snow.

It took crews about an hour to bring the blaze under control.

No immediate cause was given for what caused the smoky incident.
