Delaware State Police have charged a motorcyclist with more than 70 traffic offenses after troopers say he hit a horse, fled the scene and led law enforcers on a high-speed chase.
It happened about 6:50 p.m. Sunday. Troopers say a woman was riding her quarter horse on Chaplains Chapel Road when a motorcycle approached. Police say the driver applied the brakes, causing the vehicle to slide on the road and hit the horse on its right side.
Troopers say the woman regained control of the horse, which did not appear to be injured. Police say the motorcyclist got back on his vehicle and rode off.
Police say the motorcyclist was spotted and led law enforcers on a high-speed chase through Lincoln and Milford.
Thirty-four-year-old Roosevelt Williams of Lincoln was arrested.
