Homeless Man Pleads Not Guilty in New Jersey Shopping Center Stab Death

A homeless man has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a stabbing that left one man dead and another injured at a shopping center in northern New Jersey.

Authorities say 61-year-old Henry Werner killed 67-year-old Paul Baker and wounded 80-year-old Clarence Wispelwey who came to Baker's aid during Monday's attack at Richfield Shopping Center in Clifton.

An off-duty Nutley police officer tackled Werner and disarmed him.

Werner's attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf Thursday to murder, criminal weapons possession, aggravated assault with a weapon and attempted murder charges.

Werner remains held on $500,000 bail and the case has been referred to a grand jury.
