Cops Arrest 2 in Connection to Officer Shooting
No charges in actual shooting of officer
A man is being questioned in connection with the shooting Officer Hoggard. Three other people were also caught in the crossfire. All are in good condition.
Philadelphia police charged two men for their roles in a shootout that left a Philadelphia Police officer wounded.
Neither man was charged directly with the shooting of police officer Ashley Hoggard but rather other roles in the shootout.
On Sunday morning, the 26-year-old cop was shot in the shoulder outside the Franchise Bar on the 1300 Block of Somerset Street in North Philadelphia while responding to reports of gunfire. Three others were also caught in the crossfire -- all were expected to recover.
Dwayne Robinson, 23, was arrested Wednesday and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, violations of the uniform firearms act and related offenses in relation to the shooting a 38-year-old man outside the bar, police said.
After Robinson allegedly shot the man he passed the gun onto another guy, cops said.
The other guy was 22-year-old Joseph Cebollero. He was arrested Wednesday and charged with violations of the uniform firearms act and obstruction of justice, said police.
Cebollero was also witnessed possessing a firearm inside the bar, according to police.
Police confirmed earlier Wednesday that multiple people were questioned regarding the shootings. They want to figure out who exactly shot the officer.
The injured officer remained in good condition at Temple University Hospital, said police.
