A report of a shooting inside a Main Line gated community turned out to be a hoax, according to police.
Police told NBC10 they received a call late Saturday morning reporting a shooting on the 600 block of Lindy Lane at the Hill Gate community in Bala Cynwyd. The caller claimed a gunman inside the home shot his wife in the head and was holding another family member hostage.
Police officers and a SWAT team arrived at the community and warned residents to stay inside. Police eventually went inside the home but found it was empty. They then determined the call was a hoax.
Police are currently trying to find the person who made the initial call.
