Hit-and-Run Suspect Dies During York Police Chase

A central Pennsylvania coroner has ruled the death of a hit-and-run suspect during a police chase accidental.

State police in York County say officers stopped a pickup wanted in a hit-and-run in York on Thursday night, but the driver sped away as officers got out of their car.

Authorities said police gave chase, and the truck crashed, ejecting the driver. The county coroner's office identified him as 51-year-old Carl Snellings of York.

The coroner's office said Saturday that death was due to blunt force trauma to the chest, and the manner of death was ruled accidental.
