At Least 32 Heroin Overdoses, 3 Deaths in 7 Days in New Jersey City

Police in South Jersey used a heroin-overdose antidote to save four lives over the past week.

Unfortunately, three overdose victims died, said Camden County Police.

The overdoses were among at least 32 reported in Camden over the past seven days – six overdoses on Sunday alone – during a recent spate of heroin-related illnesses, said police. Officers used Narcan to revive four people.

Camden County officials worked together to find the source of the potentially deadly heroin behind the recent spike in overdoses. They asked that anyone with information about the manufacturing or distribution of the drug to call the anonymous police tip line at 856-757-7042.
