Pennsylvania Drug User Gets 15 Years in Federal Prison for Deadly Heroin Overdose

A central Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty under a deal with prosecutors to distributing heroin stemming from a fatal overdose in February 2014.

PennLive.com reports 32-year-old Gabriel Stouffer, of Newburg, was sentenced in a Harrisburg federal court on Monday.

Stouffer agreed to the sentence when he pleaded guilty last year in the overdose death of Kyle Golter, of Shippensburg.

Five others have also been sentenced to serve time behind bars in connection with Golter's death.

Stouffer's defense attorney says her client started using marijuana in fifth grade and became a heroin addict at 15.

His father, mother and fiancee had asked the federal judge for mercy.

Stouffer says he made lot of mistakes and regrets he made them.
