Hearing Delayed For Man Charged in Wife's Death

A hearing has been delayed for an eastern Pennsylvania man who spent years on the lam after allegedly killing his estranged wife.

WFMZ-TV said 43-year-old Miguel Torres was due in court Monday for a judge to decide whether prosecutors have enough evidence to proceed with the murder case against him.

Court officials didn't say why the hearing was delayed. No new date was immediately scheduled.

Torres has been held without bail in Berks County since Nov. 22, when he was returned to Reading from Bologna, Italy. He was captured several months earlier by Italian authorities working with U.S. Marshals.

Authorities say Torres gunned down his estranged wife Barbara West-Torres in 2005 after she obtained a protective order against him.
