Man Tries to Kill Wife: Prosecutors

A Hatfield, Pa. man is accused of trying to kill his wife with a knife earlier this week.

In a joint press release, Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Hatfield Township Police chief Mark Toomey announced the arrest Friday of Thomas Troy Young.

Early Sunday morning, officers responded to an assault at Young's townhome on the 300 block of Wheatfield Circle. Responding police found a 33-year-old woman with knife wounds that required hospitalization, according to authorities.

After investigating, police obtained an arrest warrant for Young, the victim's husband.

Young, 49, turned himself into Hatfield Township Police Friday. A District judge arraigned Young Friday night on attempted murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, weapons possession and related charges.

Young was sent to county jail unable to post $1 million bail, according to court records.

He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on March 25.
