Hansen Qualifies for 3rd Olympic Final

Havertown, Pa. native Brendan Hansen finishes 6th in men's 100-meter breaststroke semifinals

Havertown, Pa.'s Brendan Hansen qualified for his third Olympic final in the 100-meter breaststroke Saturday.

Hansen, the 2004 Olympic silver medalist who was fourth in Beijing, grabbed the 6th spot in the eight-man semifinal in 59.78. South Africa’s Cameron van der Burgh took the top spot coming in at 58.83.

The 4-time Olympic medalist posted to his twitter page after making the final:

Hansen will move on to the Final on Sunday at 3:11 p.m.

Next week Hansen will compete in the men’s 4x100 medley relay on August 3rd at 6:49 a.m. EST Friday. If he qualifies he will move on to the Final on August 4th at 3:27 p.m. EST Saturday.
