Allegedly ‘Handsy' Groom, Guest Plead Guilty in Brawl During Wedding Cruise

A groom who allegedly touched off a brawl when he groped a pregnant waitress at his wedding reception has pleaded guilty to lesser charges. Also, all charges have been dropped against his brother, a state trooper who had been accused of assaulting police who intervened.

The 33-year-old groom, Mark Williams, of Crafton, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. One of his guests, 31-year-old Brian Taylor, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and criminal mischief on Thursday.

They had been charged with riot and more serious charges following the fight early Sept. 2 after Williams' wedding cruise.

According to a criminal complaint, Williams touched the waitress several times, then scuffled with her boyfriend, whom she had phoned after the boat docked just before 1 a.m.

Off-duty state trooper David Williams had all charges withdrawn against him. His attorney says he'll return to duty, but a state police spokeswoman says an internal investigation continues.
