Gunman Shoots Barber After Paying for Haircut: Police

Police released surveillance video of a man accused of shooting a local barbershop owner after paying for a haircut.

The unidentified man entered Castor’s Finest Barbershop on the 7000 block of Castor Avenue Monday at 8:55 p.m., according to police. The shop’s 33-year-old owner told police the man asked him for a haircut, sat in a chair and paid him $13. The owner said he placed an apron on the man then turned to get a razor.

As the owner turned around, the suspect allegedly stood up, pulled out a handgun and fired several shots. The owner was struck in the left thigh, right shoulder, right chest and was grazed in the head.

After the shooting, another man entered the shop and helped the gunman pick up the fired cartridge cases off the floor, according to police. Both suspects then fled the scene.

The barbershop owner was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
The first suspect is described as a man standing 5-foot-6 and weighing 140 pounds with short hair and a medium beard. The second suspect is described as a man between the ages of 30 and 35 with dreadlocks or braids and a beard.
