A man is in police custody after a barricade situation in the Kensington section of the city.

Police say it happened Monday around 11 p.m. on the 2100 block of Venango Street. A man, who police say was involved in a dispute with his neighbor, allegedly fired five shots while outside on his front porch, prompting neighbors to call police.

When police arrived, they say the suspect slammed a door in their face while his gun was visible and a SWAT team was called to the scene. After several hours, police managed to lure the man out of his home and he was taken into custody, according to investigators.

Police say the man’s wife was inside the home during the entire ordeal though there is no indication that she was held against her will. Police found a .38-caliber gun and are searching for a second gun in the backyard of the home, according to investigators.
