Guardian Angels Come to Camden

In the midst of drastic police layoffs, the Guardian Angels have arrived in Camden, NJ.

40 Guardians from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania came to Camden Sunday morning to map out sectors of Camden where their patrols will focus.

Angels’ founder Curtis Sliwa had previously visited Camden on Dec. 16 with an initial team.

Patrols began at 11 a.m. on Sunday until midnight on the corner of Broadway and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the PATCO train station.

Camden is expected to lay off half of its police force and a third of its fire department on Tuesday.
