Grinch Steals Christmas From Under Philly Family's Tree

A Grinch sneaked into an broken window to steal gifts from right under a Philadelphia family’s tree Christmas night.

Philadelphia Police were called to Walnut Street in the Cobbs Creek section of the city after Diana Agee and her family returned home to find a broken window and items missing.

The family had been out visiting relatives Christmas for Christmas dinner when the theft occurred. Agee said her family came home to find the window open -- the screen frame bent -- and the door ajar.

The thief allegedly took Barbie dolls, games, electronics, winter coats and shoes -- leaving just a few items sitting under the Christmas tree.

“Why would you come in somebody’s house and take all their kids’ stuff,” said an emotional Agee. "They're going to wake up and ask 'where's all the stuff went.'"

Agee told NBC10 that the theft especially hit them hard since the family, which was living in a shelter just two years ago, was spending its first holiday in a long time with a tree and toys.
