The bomb squad has determined that a grenade found in a home in the Northeast is nothing more than a novelty item.

Police say the fake grenade was discovered while police were serving a warrant at a home on the 700 block of Brighton Street just before 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The bomb squad was called to the scene. They made the determination a short time later.
