Grandpa Robbed a Bank

The folks at Citizens Bank on 20th and Market didn’t expect any trouble from the older gentleman in a baseball cap and sunglasses as he casually strolled in -- until he pulled a pillowcase out from under his shirt and demanded the teller empty his drawer.

And at 9:34 a.m. on Monday morning, the teller gave the 60 to 70-year-old white man all the cash he had. Grandpa fled from the bank on foot and is still on the loose, according to Philly.com

"Clearly, this was unusual. He was on the older side of what we usually see, said FBI Special Agent J.J. Klaver.

In fact, bank robbers are generally in their 30s, according to the FBI. Well, they say that 40's the new 20, so maybe 60 is the new 30.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of the elderly bandit, who is considered armed and dangerous, call the FBI at 215-418-4000.
