Grandpa Fights, Shoots Back at Intruder

Don't mess with this old man

If you're a criminal, you're gonna want to steer clear of Donald Kaign's house.

The 84-year old Ridley Township man who's got a hearing aid and thick glasses may look like an easy target, but looks can be deceiving. Just ask Nora Taylor.

Authorities say she tried to rob Kaign back on Nov. 30 after asking for help with her broken down car.

Taylor, 28, allegedly sprayed starter fluid in the man's eyes and then hit him in the head with a metal can, police said.

Figuring she was free, Tayor -- a cleaning lady who had tidied up Kaign's home before -- headed for the man's stash of guns, but she had underestimated the grandpa.

Kaign fought back struggling with the woman in his dining room. She flipped the table and chucked a chair at him, but he just kept on coming, police said.

Done playing nice, the man grabbed his handgun and chased Taylor upstairs -- which is an amazing feat in its own right at his age -- where the two had a shootout.

Fortunately, both were a bad shot because neither was hit, authorities said.

Taylor was arrested and charged with attempted murder. She is being held on $1 million cash bail.

Authorities are still searching for a second suspect who took two of Kaign's weapons. Omar Roberts planned to give Taylor drugs and money for the guns, police said. He is believed to hang out in Chester, Pa.

As for Kaign, he seemed unfazed by the whole situation.

"You don’t have to be a cowboy or a soldier, but I refuse to submit to criminal activity," he said.

Kinda makes you want to be just like him when you grow up, doesn't it?
