Gracie Mansion Moonlights as Haunted House

The party will be held on Oct. 28 and guests are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for a charity drive

For one night, Gracie Mansion is going to be a haunted house.

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday that New York City's official mayoral residence is going to host a Halloween party.

De Blasio, his wife Chirlane McCray, and their two teenage children moved into the Manhattan mansion this year.

They are the first family to reside there since 2001. De Blasio's predecessor Michael Bloomberg chose to remain in his home.

De Blasio is unafraid to be goofy and has said in the past that a pirate outfit is his "go-to" Halloween costume.

The party will be held on Oct. 28 and guests are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for a charity drive.

Space is limited and those interested are asked to register at the mayor's office's website.
