The American Red Cross has a gift-giving suggestion for the holidays.
The Penn-Jersey Blood Services Region is calling on area residents to donate blood during the holiday season.
"A little less than an hour of your time can help save up to three lives this holiday season," said Anthony Tornetta, Red Cross Regional Communications Manager.
ARC Penn Jersey officials say donations can be given by anyone 17 or older, (16 with parental permission in Pa. and NJ). Donors must meet weight and height requirements and be in generally good health. You'll need to show a Red Cross blood donor card or some other form of ID at your blood donation appointment.
The Philadelphia Eagles will host a blood drive on Dec. 3. The 4th Annual Philadelphia Eagles Blood Drive is set to take place from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field. Blood donors will be eligible for giveaways and a special ticket contest.
