Girl Fight at Overcrowded Cheerleading Event

A brawl broke out after a cheerleading championship at the Liacouras Center on Monday night.

"It was pandemonium," said Kiana Stephens.

The competition was for the Girls Public League. About 2,500 kids were expected but 6,000 people apparently showed up.

When the competition was letting out, some of the girls got into a fight.

"People were running everywhere," Stephens said. "Cops were running. Spectators were running...people were getting slammed to the ground."

Police moved in and maced a few people, according to witnesses.

Two girls were arrested and one woman who was hyperventilating was taken to Temple University Hospital to be checked out.
