Girl, 9, Molested at South Philly Public Pool

Police say a man assaulted a young girl at a Philadelphia recreation center Monday

Police are looking for a middle-age man who allegedly molested a 9-year-old girl in a South Philadelphia city pool Monday.

The girl was attacked in the pool at the Marian Anderson Recreation Center on South 17th Street, between Catharine and Fitzwater, at about 2 p.m. Monday, police say.

It was not until an adult confronted the suspect that the alleged molester left the pool.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a slim 50-year-old Asian man with salt-and-pepper hair and missing teeth, police say.

Anyone with information should call the Special Victim’s Unit at 215.685.3251.
