3-Year-Old Girl Falls From Window

A 3-year-old girl fell from a second-story window Saturday in Germantown and was rushed to the hospital with a head injury, police said.

The incident occurred outside a home on the 500 block of Manheim Street. A man who lives in the house put his 3-year-old twin daughters to bed for their nap around noon.

Around 12:30 p.m. a family member who lives on the first floor of the home then told him that one of his daughters was outside. When he went up stairs to check on her he spotted a hole in the screen and his daughters were nowhere to be found. He then went back outside and found one of the girls on the ground bleeding from her head. The girl's twin sister was also outside though she did not have any visible injuries.

The father called 911 and police arrived at the home. Police say the twin girl who was bleeding from her head suffered a fractured skull. She was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital where she is currently in stable condition. The girl's twin sister was also taken to the hospital after police determined she may have also fallen out of the window. Doctors determined she was not injured however.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
