Gender-neutral restrooms could be coming to a bar, restaurant or other public place near you.
Philadelphia City Councilman Mark Squilla will introduce a bill Thursday that drops "Men" or "Women" from single-occupant restrooms, reported the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The proposal has the support of city LGBT leaders including Mayor Nutter's Office of LGBT Affairs, which helped draft the bill.
"Using a public bathroom can be a highly stressful, rising to even dangerous experience for certain individuals," LGBT Affairs director Helen "Nellie" Fitzpatrick told the paper. "It basically comes down to people policing other people's gender."
If council passed the legislation, which doesn’t impact multiple stall restrooms, then businesses would have 90 days to comply.
