Caught on Tape: Gunmen Shoot Gas Station Worker

Police are investigating a shooting at the Runway Gas Station in Hamilton Township, NJ.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, three men were at the gas pumps when they approached 45-year-old Surjit Singh, a worker at the station.

After pushing Singh to the ground, one suspect shot him in the stomach with a small caliber revolver. The men then ran off. The entire attack was caught on surveillance video.

Singh miraculously survived the ordeal. The bullet cut into his abdomen and then exited through his back. He was able to get up and call the police. He was then taken to a nearby hospital where he is in critical condition but expected to live.

It's not the first robbery attempt at the station, according to Sunny Singh, Surjit’s brother-in-law and owner of the station.

“I had this problem before, but not a shooting problem,” said Sunny. “They showed the knife and tried to take the money. Never got the money.”

The suspects are described as three white or Hispanic males. If you have any information, contact the Hamilton Township Police Department at 609-581-4000.
