Police: NJ Gas Station Worker Dragged, Run Over During Robbery

Authorities say two would-be robbers dragged a gas station attendant and pinned him under their getaway car.

Clifton police tell The Record that 19-year-old Uvaldo Mora and a 15-year-old boy, both from Paterson, were arrested five hours after the attempted robbery occurred early Sunday. They say the teens were unarmed and didn't get any money.

Police say the victim was "dragged for a distance" by the car and then run over. He remains hospitalized in serious condition but is expected to survive.

Mora, who allegedly was driving, crashed the vehicle into two parked cars before the teens took off on foot.

Mora faces several charges, including aggravated assault and assault by auto. The juvenile was charged with robbery and endangering the welfare of an injured victim.
