Emergency crews temporarily evacuated people from the Rothman Institute building at Nazareth Hospital after reports of a gas leak Thursday afternoon.
The hospital is located in the Rhawnhurst section of Philadelphia at Holme Avenue and Fairfield Street.
A construction worker struck a gas main with his backhoe shortly before 1 p.m., according to a fire department battalion chief.
No injuries were reported.
