Frontier Airlines Halts Flights From Delaware Sooner Than Originally Expected

Airline further reducing air service in New Castle County

Frontier Airlines says it's further reducing its flights from New Castle Airport in Delaware.

The airline said Monday that service to Chicago, Denver, Atlanta and Fort Myers, Florida, will be suspended for the winter Oct. 25. That's seven weeks earlier than the previously announced date of Dec. 12.

The airline also says it's suspending its service to Tampa from Oct. 25 to Dec. 15, and then offering two flights a week through the winter.

The announcement of reduced service comes just weeks after the airport celebrated one year of Frontier service from Delaware.

The airline says it aims to offer flights when customers want to fly.

Airport director Stephen Williams says Frontier's flights to Orlando will increase from three days a week to five days a week during October, and then go to four days a week starting in November.
