Freight Train Gets Stuck Under Bridge in North Philly

Workers took hours to remove a freight train that got stuck under a bridge in North Philadelphia Wednesday night.

The train got stuck under an Amtrak bridge near 5th Street and Allegheny Avenue late Wednesday night. No injuries were reported.

SEPTA officials told NBC10 the situation impacted two trains on the Trenton Regional Rail Line.

Crews removed the train then checked the bridge to make sure it remained structurally safe.

Service resumed on the line early Thursday.
