Registration for free pre-school officially began in Camden on Wednesday.
Starting on Wednesday and continuing through the school year, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., parents and guardians may register their child at any of the Camden School District’s private providers or any district elementary or family school. Registration will also be held at the Administration building, located at 201 North Front Street, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
To register, families will need to fill out a registration packet and provide the following:
- Three (3) current proofs of Camden residency,
- The parent or guardian’s photo ID,
- The child’s original birth certificate,
- Immunization records,
- Physical examination records, and
- Custody papers (if applicable)
Officials say families should still come to register their children even if they don’t have all of the above documentation.
Registration packets will be available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. Acceptable proof of residency includes an electricity bill, mortgage statement, phone bill (residential or cell), cable bill, credit card statement, student loan documentation, state and government-issued documents, and/or a bank statement.
Children must be three or four years of age on or before October 1, 2014 in order to be registered.
