Four Face Charges After Man Found Dead near Reading Landmark

18-year-old Donavin Yenser was found beaten to death near the Reading's Pagoda in December

Four men are facing charges in the death of a man found beaten at the bottom of an eastern Pennsylvania embankment.

The Reading Eagle reports that 21-year-old Kyle Adams was ordered held for court Tuesday in Berks County on first-degree murder and aggravated assault charges in the December death of 18-year-old Donavin Yenser.

Facing similar charges is 19-year-old Paul Cook Jr. He and two other men facing assault counts waived hearings.

Authorities allege that the four beat Yenser near Reading's Pagoda over a marijuana theft from a juvenile.

Adams' attorney, Robert Kirwan II, said a co-defendant's testimony Tuesday showed that his client caused no life-threatening injuries and he was "very confident the murder charges will not be sustained.'' Cook's attorney didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.
